Annotations not working
Heya,
I started working with ChordSmith and I think it's a pretty cool software.
I followed the instructions regarding annotations. However, when using the correct codes for annotations ChordSmith as described in the 'help' section, ChordSmith still tries to convert the annotation into a chord:
I put in spaces before and after the pipe-symbol | and yet it does not work.
Any hints?
Cheers,
Max

Re: Annotations not working
Max,
The annotations work in ChordSmith, but the Chord program does not recognize them. (Chord is a separate program that is invoked by Ctrl-G or the menu "File>Send to Chord App".) The error message you got is from the Chord program attempting to interpret the annotations as chord names. If you reply "No" or "Nein" to the error message, Chord will proceed to process and format the song. The annotations should then look the same in the Chord representation as they do in ChordSmith.
If that isn't satisfactory, another way is to enclose the annotation line between {sot} ... {eot} directives, like the following, in ChordSmith (using the ChordPro Tool "Tab"):
{sot}
|: G D G :| or ||: G D E :||
{eot}
The annotation line will be passed through to Chord, which will treat the enclosed annotation line as literal text, removing the directives.
